His eyes, scars on his face and sword all have an added glow-in-the-dark effect mixed with a gel medium giving it a 3D effect. Unlike other glow pigments, this glow in the dark pigment can be recharged by light an unlimited amount of times. Its super high luminescence will often glow brighter than the ambient light around it. After a super bright initial glow, it will afterglow for up to a few hours.
